The Level menu allows you to choose the subdrills of the main drill, change the level of difficulty of the subdrill, and create custom drills that target specific areas of study and that can be saved for later use.

The Level menu for each drill is divided into a main section and a custom section. The first menu group in the main section always contains the subdrills of the main drill. The remaining menu groups in the main section modify the subdrill. The range of questions presented in each subdrill is determined by other items in the Level Menu and by the current setting in the Difficulty Menu. The Difficulty menu is discussed on pages 23-24.
Items in the main section change from drill to drill. Items in the custom section remain the same for all drills. We'll discuss the custom section first.
Because the above menu picture is from the Triads drill, the first four items in the Custom section are called Custom Triads 1 through Custom Triads 4. They represent drills that you can create using the Set Custom Levels command. When you create your own custom drills, you can rename them, and the new names will appear in the menu positions occupied by
Custom Triads 1 through Custom Triads 4. The four Custom levels in effect for each drill will be remembered the next time you start the program.
For a tutorial about creating and saving custom drills, see the User Guide, pages 38-42.
The Set Custom Levels command opens the Set Custom Levels dialog box, where you can create four custom drills at a time. Custom levels for each drill will be discussed later in this chapter.
The Save Custom Levels command saves the current four custom levels for the active drill.

You can create and save custom level files for as many drills as you want. Each file contains one set of four custom levels for one drill.
Note: On Windows, custom levels for the six main drills are differentiated by the file name extensions ".cl1" to ".cl6." See the User Guide, page 10. On Macintosh, a unique icon differentiates the custom levels for each drill. See the User Guide, page 14.
The Load Custom Levels command opens a custom level file.

When a custom level file is opened, the set of four custom levels in the file replaces the set that was previously in effect. The names for the menu items Custom [Drill Name] 1 through Custom [Drill Name] 4 will change to the names saved in the new set.
Only custom level files that correspond to the current drill will appear in the Open File dialog. To open a custom level file for a specific drill, you must switch to that drill before choosing Load Custom Levels. For example, if you wanted to open a Triads custom level file, you would have to switch to the Triads drill before choosing the Load Custom Levels command.
