The Set Custom Levels command in the Level menu opens the Custom Chord Elements dialog box, where you can create four custom levels for the Chord Elements drill. We'll discuss the items in the dialog box from top left to bottom left, and then top right to bottom right.

Use the tab controls, labelled Custom 1 to Custom 4, to switch between the four custom levels. You can create up to four custom levels at one time.
The name you type here will appear in the custom section of the Level menu. It will replace one of the Custom Chord Elements 1 through Custom Chord Elements 4 menu items shown below.

The Thirds, Chord Tones, Chords, and Notes buttons correspond to the four subdrills of Chord Elements. Each of these buttons opens a dialog box with more options. The assignment type currently in effect is shown by a circle to the left of its name. The settings currently in effect are shown in a text display area below the four buttons.
When you click the Thirds button, the Thirds dialog box appears.

Direction From Starting Note - Choose whether questions ask for the third above (Ascending) or the third below (Descending) the given note.
