Announcing MUSIC LESSONS II for Mac OS XMiBAC Music Software Formally Introduces MUSIC LESSONS II Chords and Harmony for Macintosh OS X at Winter NAMM FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE [pdf] Northfield, Minnesota, January 17, 2005 – MiBAC Music Software, developer of the award winning MUSIC LESSONS theory and ear training software series for Macintosh and Windows, will formally introduce MUSIC LESSONS II Chords and Harmony for Macintosh OS X (10.2 or later) at the Winter NAMM show in Anaheim California. MiBAC will be in Hall A, Booth 6330 at the Edirol Partner Pavilion. With the new version 1.1, MiBAC has rewritten the software to take full advantage of the native CoreMidi and QuickTime features of Mac OS X. MUSIC LESSONS II is the second volume in the MUSIC LESSONS series, which is currently used in thousands of schools, colleges, music studios, and homes. Priced at $149, MUSIC LESSONS II version 1.1 for Mac OS X is available now from music software retailers or directly from MiBAC. The software is also available in Lab Five Packs ($447 MSRP) and Site Licenses ($999 MSRP). An upgrade path is available for previous owners of the program. The software is delivered on a hybrid CD-ROM disc containing theWindows, Macintosh Classic, and Macintosh OS X versions. “What I like best about MUSIC LESSONS II is the way it integrates all four areas of musical learning into one program. It develops the ability to recognize chords visually, write chords in notation, play chords on a piano or guitar, and identify chords by listening. It’s the most comprehensive program available for teaching and learning chords and harmony,” said MiBAC president John Ellinger. MUSIC LESSONS II is recommended for intermediate to advanced musicians, ages twelve and up. The program’s scope and flexibility make it effective with a wide range of ages, learning styles, and educator preferences. Because of its open ended design, it’s easily integrated into any music curriculum. Some of MUSIC LESSONS II’s features are: The program’s main areas of study include Chord Elements, Triads, Triads Ear Training, Seventh Chords, Seventh Chords Ear Training, and Roman Numeral Chord identification. Hundreds of interactive drills are formed by combinations of the six main areas of study and their subdrills; the Naming, Writing, and Playing activities; the five clefs; and the program’s built in piano and guitar instruments. You can create custom drills to target specific areas of study. The Music Theory Reference in MUSIC LESSONS II uses the native Mac OS X Help system to thoroughly explain all concepts related to the drills. Progress Reports keep a detailed record of your scores on every level of every drill. You can view or print the cumulative scores for an entire year or just the scores for a specific day. Teachers can use the cumulative score listing as an end of term assessment for each student. You can create, print, and save Progress Reports for an unlimited number of students. Here’s what reviewers had to say about MUSIC LESSONS II: “All of the programs in this [MiBAC] series are superbly written…presented in a clear, easy to use display…There is sufficient material for the study of chords/harmony from beginning through advanced level traditional harmonies.” Pennsylvania Music Educators Association News Company Overview MiBAC is pronounced “my back” and is an acronym for Music Instruction By A Computer.
