MIDI Controller with QuickTime Sound

[Hardware] [Setup 1] [Setup 2] [Setup 3] Setup 4-Mac [Setup 5]

Caution: Make sure your computer is powered off before making these connections.

In this setup you have a MIDI controller connected to your computer. Because the MIDI controller has no sounds of its own, you'll use QuickTime to produce sounds when you play the controller. To do this, you'll need to check the QuickTime Output check box found on the MIDI page of the Preferences dialog. See pages 33-34.

You'll need one MIDI cable to connect your MIDI controller to your computer. Notes played on the controller are sent to the computer following this cable path: MIDI OUT on the controller goes to MIDI IN on the MIDI interface.

You can answer questions by playing the controller, and MUSIC LESSONS II will play sounds through the computer speaker using QuickTime.
